Double Down

Back to back weekends at mammoth. Word up.
This time me and Payne went together. Along with Bethany, Joel, Klimey, Priscilla, Yasamin, Angie, Brittney, Radcliffe, Chianne and Sabrina. Fun and fun and fun and fun.
All 12 of us Stayed together family style. A giant rental move which ended up costing about $110 a person for the weekend. Dinner breakfast, drinks, movies, and horrible shows on discovery health about terrible unknown ailments and dramatic recounts of emergency hospital visits.
Anyway, the first day, Bethany didnt ride, so I was left to fend for myself. Sabrina, Payne, Angie and I ended up splitting off, and ripping the backside of the mountain most of the day. Ahh... glorious speed..... We missed our lunch meetup at 2:00 by about an hour. :(
but it was all love, and they waited.

Day 2 was a little hairier. Saturday night we ended up getting about a foot and a half of new snow. Word up, right? kinda. The mountain was getting blasted, winds ended up pretty serious, and we spent most of the day digging out of powder. haha. It was still awesome. And Bethany ended up riding.

So the contest moves along. New scores and new fun. Chris is still up one, but I might pull ahead this weekend with my upcoming trip to salt lake.

Jack and Jill

Word up. I'm on the board. Mammoth weekend kickoff with me and my lady. It started on friday with some jack moves in the garage to put the winter wheels on. Borrowing Joel's jack was a good move, and made it easier. It still took forever, cause I washed each wheel before putting them on, and I washed the ones I took off. Still sweet though. Then I checked the pressure and packed up for the hill.
Mammoth was sweet. As usual. We left early on friday. Early enough to eat dinner at a real restaurant in stead of the classic Denny's stop. Fine wine and a fine lady. It was awesome. Saturday was cool. Met up with Billy from work, and then popped a b0ttle and watched Ratatouille. Ahh.
Sunday got a little windy and a storm came in in the early afternoon. Hoods and turtlefur. Sweet.

Bring the Payne

Here's where I'm at in the contest so far. I rode 3 times already. Once at Bear during ski-dazzle and twice this past weekend(Jan.12-13) up north at South Lake Tahoe (Sierra at Tahoe and Kirkwood). I really like riding at those places. During the trip I got pulled over in Valencia because the cop profiled me. The next day we all stop at Denny's for breakfast/lunch before riding and we all smelled something funny. After riding we head back to the condo and we see that Denny's has their lights off and the windows were all busted. We soon found out that there was a gas explosion 2 hours after we left. I think it was Jeremy that was trying to stop me from riding. In all it was fun and I will continue to add more notches under my belt for this season.

wracks in effect

Yeah. It's done. Rack version 2.0 is done. In and out of home depot in 45 minutes. Came out of there with some rubber pipe couplings and some nuts, bolts and washers. I ended up drilling through the base carrier bars to mount them. The smoothest part is that I offset the bars so Its much easier to put the boards on. (the bindings stay in the middle) Here are the pics of my handiwork.

The Rack

Okay. So the problem that needs solving is the Rack. I have a station wagon with carrier bars and a snowboard attachment. Problem is, I cant get more than 2 boards into it. My sleek sports wagon has low profile roof rails, and putting the boars upside down doesn't work without scraping.

The mission is to modify the rack so that I can fit 4 boards.
Went to home depot this morning looking for hardware. No luck.
Then came back, looked at the rack with Joel (handyman extraordinaire) and decided to drill new holes in it to sidestep custom hardware. Tomorrow I will get Deep in the depot and crush this rack thing once and for all.
